Privacy Policy
This policy describes what data e-movies collects, why, and how we protect it. By using the service you agree to this policy.
What we collect
- Account: username, password hash, email (optional for password reset), subscription tier and expiry.
- Profile: display name and avatar per profile on your account.
- Activity: watch history, playback positions, watchlist, playlists, taste profile (genre and actor affinity used for recommendations).
- Device: User-Agent and IP address at login for rate limiting and abuse prevention. IP is never displayed publicly.
How we use it
- Serve personalized recommendations.
- Sync watch state across website, Roku, Fire TV, and iOS.
- Rate-limit and detect abusive traffic.
- Fulfill subscription payments (via Shoppy.gg — we only receive transaction status; card and crypto data never touch our servers).
What we don't do
- We don't sell personal data.
- We don't share with ad networks or data brokers.
- We don't run third-party tracking scripts on authenticated pages.
Retention
Watch history, playback positions, and watchlists are retained as long as your account is active. Login logs are retained for 30 days. Email records for password reset are deleted after a successful reset.
Your rights
- Delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete).
- Request a data export by emailing privacy@e-e.lol.
- Opt out of recommendations by resetting your taste profile (Settings).
